Study, summer, and salsa at the Slifka Center

On Wed., Jan. 24, at the Slifka Center, students had the opportunity to learn about programs that would take them to Israel. Pamphlets and salsa were available at the gathering hosted by Yale Friends of Israel.

There is a wide variety of summer and semester programs available to students. One of the most popular programs involves studying for a semester at Hebrew University, or at other universities in Israel. Another volunteer program involves working on an Israeli army base for three weeks. In one, participants work on a kibbutz, which is a communal settlement that concentrates on a particular industry and is largely self-sufficient.

Most of the programs discussed involve some travel throughout Israel. According to Dan Reich, TD '98, president of YFI, each program is a potentially unique and rewarding experience.
