Several teams finished off their seasons this week, all in good style. Water polo gave TD a good whippin', with a halftime score of 8-0. We don't even know what it was at the end of the game, but we think Captain Dave Balfour '96, Loren Mezerve '93, and Mark Huey '96 all had hat tricks. Susan Whetstone '96 was unstoppable in goal, and Sarah Webb '96 racked up a record numbers of steals. Israel Flores '96 moves his tube so damn fast, we couldn't keep track of just how well he did. Steve Guyer '96, Anna Davis '96, Erica Olsen '96, and a few others were crucial to our success this season. We may not have won it all, but we were good. Thanks for all your time and efforts.
Men's C hoops missed the playoffs by two points in a hotly contested match against Trumbull. If the match had been held in the new Silliman Square Garden, things would definitely have been different. Our team was used to practicing on a much better court than PWG has to offer. Anyhow, congratulations to the squad on a fine season.
Men's volleyball played an amazing game on Monday, losing 13-15 in the third game to league-leading JE after an epic battle full of comebacks, amazing digs, and great hitting. Everyone was outstanding this week-John Veysey '97, Andrew Chen '99, Brian Kang '99, Robby Luckett '99, Steve Song '98, Damon Erickson '98, Dan Lyons '97, Gary Huang '98, and Mark Huey '96.
Men's squash finished their season with yet another victory, this time against Pierson. Just how deep is the SM ladder? Let's put it this way: ladders into the fiery pits of hell don't come this deep. The fab five: Dave "I play every day-o" Baranano '96, Josh "If only I could get the women out here" Sevin '96, Jeff "Tell 'em like it is," Wise "Grasshopper" '97, Jesse "Me whup yer butt" Heitler "and lowler" '97, and "Great" Scott Selberg '96. Also swinging some fine rackets for the 'Mander are Damon "Sweaty palms" Erickson '98, "Fast" Eddie Gonzalez '98, and Jon "White, pumpernickel, or" Rye '98.
Ice hockey played, ice hockey won. No surprises there.
