WHY IT'S IMPORTANT: The Bulldogs suffered a tough 42-6 defeat last week at the hands of intra-state rival UConn and would like nothing better than to do the unthinkable and get back on the winning track against Division I-A Army. That will be an extremely difficult task, however. In addition to playing their first game on turf this year, the Bulldogs will be facing a Black Knights team that could be out of their league. Army is one of the top 30 teams in the country, and almost upset Notre Dame last season. In addition, the Bulldogs will likely be without starting tailback Jabbar Craigwell, JE '98, who suffered a minor knee injury last week. If nothing else, this game is an opportunity for the Elis to play a big-program team in front of a filled stadium. A win just might be a bit too much to ask.
Prediction: Army 49, Yale 14.
