This week's top matchupWHAT: UConn at Yale WHEN: Sat., Sept. 28, 1:00 p.m. kickoff WHERE: Yale Bowl, New Haven, Conn. RADIO: WYBC 94.3 FM, 12:45 pre-game show WHY IT'S IMPORTANT: The Bulldogs are coming off of one of their most impressive wins in recent history. They defeated the Brown Bears 30-0 last week in Providence, R.I., to start their season on a positive note. The Bulldogs, who were picked in the pre-season to finish last in the conference, are looking to prove themselves in head coach Carm Cozza's 32nd and final season at the helm. They will face a strong UConn Huskies team, who are coming off of a tough loss to New Hampshire. WHAT SHOULD HAPPPEN: This will be a very difficult game for the Bulldogs to win, as UConn does not face the same recruiting and scholarship limitations. In fact, many people are giving Yale virtually no chance. UConn, however, has a number of new faces, particularly in their secondary. The Huskies' leading rusher from last season also graduated, leaving the squad with some question marks. If the Bulldogs can take advantage of the inexperienced Husky secondary, and stop tailback Tory Taylor from running rampant, they could win this game. That said, prediction: UConn 24, Yale 14. |
