Morse Intramurals

The Morse c-hoops team reminds everyone of the 1986 Celtics championship squad, mainly because any player at any time has the capacity to play like Greg Kite. Beginning the season with a filthy loss to BK, the Morse squad has rebounded in the last two weeks. They've even won some games, beating Silliman like the AFC 33-6 and taking down Davenport 24-20. Playing pivotal roles and showing up for at least two games for the team have been a collection of bad NBA clones, including Matt "Geiger" Watkins '97, Jeremy "Stackhouse" Meredith '97, Adam "Keefe" Harter '97, Ross "Wayman" Tisdale '99, Dean "Rasheed" Wallach, Zak "will be riding the" Pines "for not picking the Pats" '00, "Thunder" Dan Wildermann '00, and "Arthur" Fawzi "relli" Jumean '00. On the good news/bad news front, Chris "Mullin" Sakellis '97 has managed to occasionally avoid the bottle on game days and the team dedicated its last victory to its ill star "Derrick" Coleman Long '97, Morse's talented enigma. With the Czar of substitutions Chris "Dudley on the line" Taffe '97 working the rotation, Morse is guaranteed to at least be confused, if not victorious, in the future.

Meanwhile, amongst the other fun sports of Morse IMs, the one I forget to announce at IM meetings does the best. Morse IM Hockey is still undefeated!!! Three wins and two ties place it approximately second in the league. This week has been a little slow, so the scores are to be updated in the near future, but until then, here they are! Women's hoops won and lost by large margins in both games. A-hoops has dominated over CC, SY, and JE by enough to know it wasn't a fluke. Women's volleyball has won approximately half their games, and their counterpart, men's volleyball, played like Maverick and Goose against DC and CC, putting them in their place. The women of squash stand like Cher and Dion looking bored while winning either completely, or aided by forfeits, for the past four games. Water polo has done well overall, but even Nilesh "Wake Maker" Kalyanaraman '97, who is practicing diligently for the upcoming swim meet later this month, could not save the team from defeat. However, the double forfeit with TC on Tuesday took down one other team as well.

And last but certainly not least, our bowling team is preparing to lead us down the proverbial lane to victory. So cheers to all, until next week!
