Trumbull

Whether it was the arrival of team t-shirts or some leftover energy from last Thursday's Rumble, something made the Bull show a few signs of life this week.

Out in full force and sporting the latest in IM fashions, Trumbull's cross country runners kicked off the week with an impressive showing at Monday's competition, where Aubrey Dick "tator of the course" '01 finished second place overall in the women's race and Dan "Eat my orange shorts" Vining '98 placed fourth among the men. Kudos also go out to Genny "I don't" Taft "to try and I can still place fourth" '99 and Sarah "Just follow the braids" Jeon '00 for their fabulous performances that helped the women's team qualify for next week's championships. Most importantly, Trumbull had a great turnout, and it was nice to see some new faces out at the fields. Terrific job, Asher, Brian, David, Emma, Jennifer, Jonathan, Joni and Sunny. As for Gus "I guess we've found one thing this guy can't do" Bagattini '01, good effort and we hope your shins are doing better.

On a slower note, the table tennis team has yet to enjoy the success we had hoped for, considering the racquet prowess of co-captains "Get outta my dreams, get into my" Carla Shen '99, "Maid" Marion Ringel '99, and "The" Jenn "eral" Ginn '99. It seems like we should have a really good team--we even have one of those people who carries his own personal raquet (you're awesome, Ji-Jon), but for some reason we never actually win a whole match. Jenn is still undefeated, as is the mixed doubles team of "Trumbiatches" Jennifer Walsh '99 and Raf Lena '99, who have taken to practicing without tables and against walls in preparation for their high-octane matches. But as for the rest of the team, the triumphs have been few and far between. We have the skills, it's just a thirst for blood we seem to lack. As the season comes to an end, we'll be relying on our top singles players Carla, Marion, "Don't call me Indra"Neel Gan-
dhi '99, and Nick "at Night" Camerlenghi '98 to develop that killer instinct and lead the Bull to victory. Table tennis could be just the vehicle Trumbull needs to keep itself away from the humiliation of double-digit Tyng Cup standings. Ping-pong rocks!
