Ezra Stiles

We won the shirts! We won the shirts! Okay, so what if they are Discover Card shirts. They still have holes for our head and our two arms and they have the nifty Bulldog logo on the front. The Discover Card Coed Touch Championship was about more than just shirts, baby, it was about pride. The Moose showed what it could really do when it came down to the crunch...and the shirts were a small consolation for the two un-reffed games we lost during the regular season. And we proved that quality is far more important than quantity, when we won both the Discover games with only five players. Yo, our men kicked some serious butt. Patrick "Ka" Bumatay '00, Tad "Break!" Yanagi '00, Dave "I never need to be reminded about IMs" Barcelo '00, Mike "Let's get some Popeye's" Hargis '00, Peter "aluminium" Hall '00, and "Hot" Rodrigo Gutierrez '98...you guys rock our world!!! And the two women, Melissa "I just want to catch the ball today" Huang '98 and Santi "don't you" Duewel "with me" '00 were all over these games, Huang catching not one, but several balls. All we have to say is that it's all about pride, the Discover shirts, and the Stiles coed touch football team. (Hey Coach S., if you need some help for The Game come to Stiles. Our women have a hell of a pass rush!)

Though Stiles coed touch this season was for the most part a Class of 2000 thing, our two faithful seniors provided the experience and wisdom needed to lead us to victory. The Discover Card Championship featured the retirement of our two fearless seniors on the field. Rodrigo, our lightning-fast blitzer and awesome pass receiver, and Mel, who proved that tenacity and testosterone are not mutually exclusive. Oh, Mighty Seniors, we, the lowly sophomores, grovel at thy feetzy, "cause just when you think the threat is over, just when you think it's safe to say that Stiles' superiority is a thing of the past...behold the return of the MOOSE!!!" We're gonna be in your faces on the basketball court, swimming circles around you in the pool, spiking our way to total domination in volleyball, bowling over you in the lanes, skating our way to victory in the rink, and serving up continuous wins in squash. We are Stiles. We are the Moose. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Back to IMs...
