Smack Zone

Chen--Not quite $10,000 yet, but with just three weeks left until we crown the king, it's pretty clear who knows his Smack. With Victory mathematically eliminated and Krause still unable to rebound from that disastrous week, it won't be too difficult to close this out. I'll take the Skins over Dallas ($750), as Allen rushes for a 100 yards ($250). The Pats will again look like the best AFC team with a win over the Bucs ($800). Nebraska will show that they're the real No. 1 with the largest margin of victory in the top ten ($600). Upset special: Burke's Bears over the Jets for $400. Last Week: +$500. Current Balance: $9,800.

Krause--With three weeks to go, I've got Chen in my sights--he's lulled into a false sense of security and I'm ready to strike. Looking for my third positive rebound week in a row, I'll start in the NFL with Denver taking a big win over KC, Tampa over New England, Dallas over Washington, the Giants over Arizona, and Miami over Buffalo, each for $600. The men's ice hockey team will grab its third straight ECAC win at Brown for $500, and Westlund will give up five or fewer goals over the entire week end ($500). Also look for the Elis in the top three in volleyball at the Ivies ($250). Last Week: +$700. Current Balance: $8,200.

Victory--Okay, so my baby steps strategy has brought me above the starting balance for the first time in...too long. I thought I might mix it up this week and have us bet on when the Yale Bookstore is opening, but the results for that one will probably come in way after our Smack tenure. Let me just warn Krause and Chen that I have little somethin' somethin' up my sleeve for these last three weeks. I'll put $1,000 on Yale volleyball placing in the top three at the Ivies this weekend, $750 on the Lakers taking Houston, and $1,000 on the Devils over Buffalo in some NHL action. Last Week: +$750. Current Balance: $5,200.

David Goldenberg (Guest)--Last week was not the kindest in the Guest column, but I'm looking to change that trend. But hey, now that Michigan won, they have yet another chance to choke in a big game. Speaking of big games, I'll be there to watch Princeton receive the most humiliating beating of its life at Giants Stadium at the hands of a rejuvenated Yale squad ($500). Also on the home front, Yale volleyball will cruise to at least a second-place finish at the Ivy Championships ($300) and both ice hockey teams will smack Harvard ($200). Auburn over GA on the college gridiron ($500). And in the NFL, the Jets will pick up another win ($500). Last week: -$2,600. Guest Balance: $5,300.
