Calhoun

This fall, Calhoun kicked butt on the IM fields. The reason could be our stellar frosh class...or the decreased participation in Houncest, which formerly tired out our athletes. However, Calhoun has taken first place this week in the most recent addition to Yale intramurals: Verbal Bombardment/Gossip Warball. Here is a short excerpt of the match that took place last night at the long table: Tip off was at 5:30 sharp, as Dylan Tornay '98 entered the dining hall. He joined Kerri Platt '98 and Chris Ip '98 for a short warm up of "The Calhoun Kevin Bacon Game." After several rounds, the entire table realized it would be easier to control Mike Milliken's pelvis on a dance floor than to actually sort out the sheer volume of the 'Cest. Jerk Boy '98 tried to interject his two cents, but a ravioli slam dunk quickly sent him to the bench. Matt Morgado '98 came in to sub. When someone told him to shut up (again), he laughed and left the dining hall. Walking back to the Taft, he ran into Abbie Dono-van '98, permanently annexed onto the Old Campus. At first she thought it was Napoleon, but when she realized it was Matt, she pretended to be nice and then just made fun of him later (like now). She raced off to the game and joined the long table just in time for a round of "Stare Games/Bitch Fest."

No other class could have mounted a real retaliation against those most formidable seniors. The frosh (surprise, surprise) were just plain scared. The sophomores were all too hung over. And the juniors, well they never even had a chance in hell.

Just in from Teddy Kang '98 (one of the few IM players): B-hoops lost again this week.

So anyway, with respect to other debaucherous Calhoun events, Calhoun had another "tittilating" tailgate triumph. For anyone who missed the spectacle, Calhoun won the New Haven Register prize for the Most Spirited Tailgate. They attributed our success to the Winnebago, the food, the music, and the dancing.... We think it had something to do with the first appearance of the CGNS chicas. Special thanks to Lisa Wilson '95 who made a guest appearance. And who could forget the reinstitution of the Houn Moon. Ok, so it might have been scary, but at least it was kind of entertaining.

News Flash: Ace reporter Kang has just imparted that a-hoops won again last week. Thanks, Teddy.

Our standings in the winter season may have slipped, but as you can see, we have been busy elsewhere. Keep up the good work on and off the field, Calhoun!
