Money-tracking Mayhem

Wondering where all your money went? Ask George. No, not George W.; he can't be expected to solve all your fiduciary difficulties, even despite his Yale diploma. But at WheresGeorge.com, you can enter the serial numbers of your dollar bills and have them tracked all around the country. Apparently this is a very popular pastime as evidenced by the site's claim to have logged over a million bills, totalling over $11 million.

In addition to logging bill-sightings as they come in ("hits"), the site also features forums (where you can join in the discussion of The Lost Georges), and an online store (where you can buy rubber stamps to help you with the "Georging"). Pennsylvania tops the list so far for the state with the highest hit ratio at almost 7%, and Ohio and New Jersey are not far behind. The residents of Dayton, Ohio, in particular, are having quite a bit of fun. As of Fri. Jan. 14, they had received hits on almost one out of every five bills.
