Pierson

Fear not, Piersonites! It seems that although we had a not-so-stellar fall season, the freshmen have come up big to redeem the Pierson IM reputation from the gutter.

In men's B-hoops, the Fab Five Frosh have continually helped carry the team to victory. Last week, they managed to beat Berkeley despite having only four players for the first half of the game.

Meanwhile, in women's volleyball, Daniela "`Lil' spike" Ricciardi '01 has been backed up by frosh Kara Drews and Zoe Tanaka. Last week, they beat Morse in the first set 15-1.

Upperclassmen are still representing, though. In men's volleyball, Jeff Chi '00 has helped the team to a 4-1 record thanks to his great serve. Squash has started the season with a 1-0 record and should be really good this season. Both A-hoops and hockey are doing quite well, as both are sports at which Pierson has traditionally excelled. Thanks to another frosh, Jason Pessel, both teams won this past week once again.

So far this winter season, Pierson is moving up in the world. After the third week, we were in sixth place, a vast improvement over the 10th place finish after the fall season.
