Shaken up

Dartmouth men's hockey

In one tumultuous day, the ECAC lost a team and Dartmouth lost a travel partner when the University of Vermont cancelled the rest of its hockey season. The move came in response to allegations that Catamount hockey players withheld information from an investigation of hazing during hockey initiation. The Big Green, which previously shared travel costs and accomodations with Vermont, was left trying to reschedule trips while the rest of the ECAC had to shuffle their game schedules to fill vacancies from Vermont games. Recalculated ECAC standings have Dartmouth in fourth place, close behind Yale in third.

Doubling up

Cornell women's basketball

Guard Janice Arcilla '01 scored 18 points to lead six Big Red players in double figures as Cornell defeated Columbia 78-58 on Sat., Jan. 15. The Big Red had four new faces in the starting lineup due to injuries. Three Big Red players scored in double figures for the first time in their careers.
