The Quakers' Michael Jordan '00 hit two game-winning free throws to break a 47-47 tie with 3:53 left in the Pennsylvania's hard-fought 50-47 victory over the Big Red in Ithaca on Sat., Jan. 29. Jordan, who averaged 15.7 points per game in the Quakers' three wins this past week, led Penn with 18 points and eight rebounds. For the week, he had 47 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists, and was 15 for 28 from the field.

Pennsylvania women's basketball

The Lions won a 63-57 battle over the reigning Ivy champion Princeton Tigers on Sat., Jan. 29, for the Lions' first victory over the Tigers since the 1989-90 season. Shaunte Edmonds '03 had the first double-double of her collegiate career with 19 points and 10 rebounds, as well as three blocks. The victory lifted Columbia to a 2-2 record in the Ivy League.
