Branford

Okay Branford, your usually annoyingly enthusiastic IM secs are getting a little frustrated. You see, the bFa contingent had been making great progress this winter. We were breathing down Calhoun's neck, ready to jump into the top half of the Tyng standings. But then Branford IM participation fell off, with our numbers becoming punier than Manute Bol's biceps. Exhibit A—last Monday. With four matches against last- place Trumbull, the Swingers managed to blow their golden opportunity by forfeiting A-hoops and ice hockey, while playing shorthanded in B-hoops and water polo. And despite the gritty efforts of hardcore IM studs, the good guys lost both contests by close margins. This was the second week in a row that B-hoops played with only four fellas, and they lost both games by a combined margin of three points. Exhibit B—last Monday. Trumbull...are you kidding me?

Of course, even when we've got the numbers, we haven't been coming through in the clutch. Look no farther than Branford bowling, who took first-place Saybrook to a deciding third game, only to end up choking like a White House intern.

There are still bright spots. The killer spikes of "Long" Don Davis '00 have kept the men's volleyball team on a roll, while women's basketball continues to beat their opponents like unwanted step-children. Let's build from this foundation.

See you at the gym, fellow Branfordians. Let's put down those beer cans and lab notebooks and get our butts in gear.

(Compiled by a fan of the late, great, and dangerously overweight rapper Big Pun. I'm sure you went out bangin' big fella.)
