Around the Ivies

First punch
Pennsylvania vs. Princeton men's basketball

The Ivy League's top two teams faced off on Tues., Feb. 15 in a battle that might decide the league champion. Pennsylvania emerged victorious over Princeton, 55-46, behind the strong play of guard Michael Jordan '00, who led the Quakers with 14 points. Princeton fell behind 25-18 at halftime, and never regained the lead. The Tigers came within two points of the lead at 38-36, but could not pull ahead as Penn mounted a 15-7 run in the last 5:43 of the half to secure the win.

The Tigers were outclassed by Penn throughout the game, and were held scoreless for 10 minutes in the first half. Princeton forward Mason Rocca '00 almost got the Tigers back in the game, scoring all 16 of his points in the second half. However, the Tigers finished the day shooting 29 percent from the field. Penn now leads the Ivies with a 7-0 record, while Princeton falls to 5-2.
