Jonathan Edwards

We've proved the experts wrong. JE is on a hot streak coming off its spectacular fourth-place winter season. In the highlight of the season's end, the championship swim meet, JE's swimmers showed what they were made of by finishing second overall, all the while remembering there's no "I" in swimming. Said captain Carolyn Nguyen '00, "The team gave 110 percent, literally!"

JE looks to keep its momentum going in the crucial spring season. Taking the spotlight is our explosive ultimate team. As the flamboyant Alexander Jhin '01 once said, "Ultimate—it's a game you have to take one game at a time." Said Serge Lang, "Explosive? Who or what exactly is exploding?" Added Mike Lew '03, "Ultimately, the game will actually come down to who has more points at the end of the game."

The soccer team also has its eyes on the prize. "We know that the best defense is a good offense," freshman sensation Austen Moore said. Erin Arruda '00 added, "By trying to score early, we hope to take the wind right out of their sails, literally!"

Our billiards stalwarts play hard on and off the table. "Billiards is a game of inches," captain Miki Kunitake '00, said. "There's no `I' in billiards. And I'm a team player. That's why there's no `I' in Miki Kunitake." Added trusty sidekick Yong Li '00, "They say that the best offense is a good defense. But it's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye, literally!"

JE knows there's no "I" in IMs, which is why our spring season motto is, "It ain't over 'til the fat lady '01 sings!"
