Tuesday: McGwire, E Squad at it again in softball. Lot C, East Haven (SM)—Swinging for the fences Louis "McGwire" Tompros '00 (HR, 1) and the motley E posse of frosh (Ken Canfield, Sam Huntington, Katie Aldrich, Mairin Burke, Dave Gest) powered an all-star Silliman lineup to an exciting 10-9 victory over JE. Upperclassmen Shane "Bonds" Dizon '00, Ernest "Know Your Role" Morris '00, Jesse "How Not to Run Bases" Olsen '01, and Sam "Sosa" Stern '01 joined fellow newcomer Erica "Piazza" Pritzker '03 in the drumming of the college that stole our shirt design. Captains Gest and Aldrich said earlier this week, following a fluke forfeit to Stiles, "Where the hell are all the other Sillimanders? Why must E save their collective asses time and time again?"
Thursday: Terrific Trpic keys easy 4-on-4 victory. Armory Fields, East Haven (SM)—The Silliman coed volleyball team dismantled its JE counterpart in straight sets thanks to the inspired serving of rookie phenom Lisa Trpic '03, who has agreed to a seven-game, smoothie-for-play contract with the red-hot Sillimanders. Joining the effort were fellow L powerhouses Claire "Ironwoman" Brickell '03, fresh off playing the entire ultimate game, and sophomore sensations Augustine "Altitude" Kim and Eri "Shriek!" Sato.
