Morse

Another week has passed, which means another win for our undefeated B-hoops and ice hockey teams. Still, two teams do not a fourth-place standing make. The blood, sweat, and tears of the common Morsel have fueled Morse's rise to the top.

This past week saw our beloved Elis put the Cantabs to shame on the varsity basketball court. But who can dispute the fact that Morse women's hoops plays the best ball at Yale. Captain Teresa Sakash '99 is the mastermind behind the team, installing a flashy West Coast offense, complemented by a stifling defense. Lillian "Mookie Blaylock" Robinson '00, Rasheena "Del" Harris '99, Christina James "Naismith" '99, Susanna Tenny "Anderson" '98, and Jennifer Dennis "Rodman" '98 round out this dangerous squad.

Men's volleyball has put forth a strong showing, despite a number of heartbreaking losses. Now, while we catch our opponents off-guard, captain Dan Duggan '98, Mike "Dodd" Porat '98, Mike "Whitmarsh" Gordon '00, Mike "IM God" Hoevel '01, Mike "God That's The Fourth Mike In A Row" Potkay '98, and Jonathan "Terminator" Thessin '00 are poised to sweep through the rest of the season.

And what IM report is complete without a bowling wrap-up? This year has seen the emergence of freshman sensations Mike Hoevel and Nick "Kingpin" Fleisher, who have complemented experienced kegglers Dan "The Future of Morse Bowling" Wilderman '00, T.J. "White Lightning" Gordon '98, and Pam "Wonder Years" Palladino '99. Needing just one more win to match last year's total, Morse is definitely showing improvement in this crucial, if sometimes underappreciated, IM sport.
