...A last-second shot fell short on Fri., Jan. 30, as visiting Dartmouth stopped Yale's (9-9 overall, 4-2 Ivy) winning streak at four games. The Green led by six with less than a minute left in the game, and held on for a 70-68 triumph despite a valiant Yale push. Captain Emerson Whitley, SY '98, led the squad with 19 points. David Tompkins, SY '99, and Matt Ricketts, TD '98, each contributed 15 points. The Bulldogs redeemed themselves on Sat., Jan. 31, with an exciting 71-65 overtime win against Harvard. Tompkins led the effort with 17 points, and Marlon Simpkins, MC '99, came through with six of his career-high 16 points in overtime. Yale visits Columbia on Fri., Feb. 6 and Cornell on Sat., Feb. 7.

...The women's basketball team (8-10 overall, 2-4 Ivy) split its weekend decisions. In her first collegiate start, Lily Glick, ES '01, scored 16 points in the win at Dartmouth, and Alyson Miller, JE '01, grabbed 11 rebounds. On Sat., Jan. 31, the women fell to first-place Harvard 74-54. Glick again led the scoring, dropping in 12 points, and Autumn Braddock, BK '99, and Katy Grubbs, SM '99, each added 10 in defeat.
