Pierson

What a day! Our first day of spring IMs brought 25 Tyng points and a whole lot of fun. We can put our soccer win all on the women. The winless Pierson men joined our outstanding women to beat D-Port 6-0. Hope Tryon '00, Rebecca Smullin '98, and Rachel Easterly '98 led the women and Dan Koehler '00 stole the ball from every D-Port player as Pierson dominated. Overpowering victories in volleyball added some more cherished Tyng points, and helped to creep up on that ever-so-special third-place 'Houners.

And sticking with that winning theme...you can be blasé about some things, Rose, but not about co-ed softball. The team destroyed D-Port this week (Okay, so it was a 1-0 forfeit, but we won the scrimmage). The beating was so bad, one sorry D-porter could be heard yelling "For God's sake, there are women and children here--let us up so we can have a chance!"

The squad is led by three fine senior specimens--Mike Janik, Nick Madden, and Mike Diluna. Just the other day, these three were sleeping on a bench in lower court, but now, here they are, on the grandest team in the world, kicking the hell out of other fine students.

So bring on your teams. We're tired of hearing, "The IM fields are freezing and there aren't enough women. Half the colleges in Yale are going to forfeit." To this we respond: "Not the better half."

(Compiled by the king of the world. "Whoooo-hooo!")
