As good as goldBy Sharon Lin Cristina Teuscher '00 set a school and pool record in the 500-yard freestyle at the NCAA Women's Swimming Championships hosted by the University of Minnesota. Her time of 4:35.45 was just 1.06 seconds short of the American and NCAA record time set by former Stanford star Janet Evans. Like Evans, Teuscher is an Olympian, having won a gold medal in the 4x200 meter free relay at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
