With a 71-53 win over Columbia on Fri., Feb. 27,
Princeton seized the Ivy League title and a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The
Tigers faced second-place Pennsylvania on Tues., Mar. 3, in a contest where the
stakes remained high despite Princeton's recent victory. The Tigers earned a
78-72 overtime win to finish unbeaten in the league and tie a school record for
single-season victories. It was Princeton's 19th consecutive win, which also
ties a school-best. Bill Carmody became the seventh coach in Division I history
to win 50 games in his first two seasons.
