Trumbull

Yes, we all know the real reason Trumbullians were out in hordes on Fri., Apr. 3 for an extended afternoon of volleyball and assorted revelry at the IM fields. We all know why for that one afternoon, all those measley excuses for not playing IMs suddenly disappeared. But take the cynics away for a minute. It could definitely be said that the spirit of 1962 was in the air for those blissful few hours that seemed to stem from something deeper than the back of Nick Camerlenghi '98's car. One might even say it was the start of a new era in inTRUMurals.

For the first time in recorded Trumhistory, we not only fielded an entire four-person team in our volleyball game against Pierson, but also filled the sidelines with enthusiastic (albeit sometimes rowdy and stumbling) fans. And it was a sign of many good things to come for this historically weak Trumsport. The arrival of 6' 5" Peter Novak as our new dean promises to provide us with exactly the sort of player we've lacked all year. His skills and size should mix well with the solid play of current stars Nick Fortunatus "Favet audaci" '01 and Peter "The Serve Couldn't Be Sweeter" Fabrizio '01, whose confident playing saved game two for us against TD.

As a final note for the 1997-98 season, the Bull sends out huge thanks and well wishes to devoted yet departing IM athletes Mike Pastor, Dan Vining, Zach Roth, Dan McLaughlin, Nick Camerlenghi, Natasha Gianvecchio, Meghan Imrie, Leslie Moore, and the rest of the seniors who helped lead us out of 12th place this year. You will be deeply missed.
