Tournament run: Harvard men's lacrosse
With 12 seconds left in the game, and an NCAA bid on the line, Jim
Bevilacqua '98 scored the winning goal as the Crimson upset number 10
Massachusetts 13-12 on Sat., Apr. 18. The Crimson went on a six-goal run in
the first period to open up an early lead. Bevilacqua tallied a career-high six
goals. Goaltender Keith Cynar '98 had 12 saves in net, including a crucial
stop on a Minuteman breakaway with two minutes remaining in the contest. This
weekend, Harvard, currently ranked number 17 in the nation, faces number 21
Notre Dame. A loss would crush the Crimson's quest for a tournament bid.
Harvard is second in the Ivies to number two Princeton, which can clinch its
fourth straight league title with another league win.
