Men's lacrosse: Finishing with pride
It has been a tough season for the men's lacrosse team.
On Sat., Apr. 18, the Bulldogs faced off against Harvard in their yearly
grudge match. Despite Yale's best effort, however, the Crimson came out on top
by a score of 5-2 in a defensive struggle. All season long, the team has been
plagued by a lack of offensive firepower.
Brian Shure, BR '98, and Cody Johnson, DC '99 scored Yale's two goals. The
team then hit the road on Wed., Apr. 22, traveling to Newark, Del. to face the
Delaware Blue Hens.
Unfortunately, the Bulldogs fell to their opponent again, this time by a score
of 9-3. The loss dropped their record to 3-9 (1-4 Ivy). Shure and Johnson
scored for the Blue along with Brad Graw, SM '99. Goalie Joe Pilch, SM '99,
made 11 saves for the Elis.
For the Bulldogs, it's been a matter of getting the offense going. The squad
has scored more than ten goals only once this season--an 11-10 win over Rutgers
on Sat., Apr. 4.
Next up for the Bulldogs is Pennsylvania on Sat., Apr. 25, at 1 p.m. at
Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium. They host SUNY Stony Brook on Wed., Apr. 29 at 3 p.m
to close out the season. The Elis hope to finish the campaign with a streak of
wins.
