Davenport

Well, the spring season has started and although we definitely have the heart, Davenport isn't living up to its incredible potential. On Mon., Mar. 30, after a thrilling one-run win over TD in coed softball, the coed soccer team almost pulled off an undermanned upset. With only nine strong bodies taking on TD's 18 or so, the D-porters fought until exhaustion to a scoreless tie in regulation, only to be forced to play an unforeseen overtime and eventually lose by one. But Davenport won a moral victory, remembering something a few TDers seemed to have forgotten: IMs are supposed to be fun for everyone (including women). The team was led by Captains Tim "No Mo' Fr" O'Meara '00 and Gracey "Heavyweight" Nagle '00, but was carried by the incredible heart of Larra "Mama Don't Take No Mess" Pleasant '00, who unknowingly played more than half of the game with a sprained ankle. Other killer D-porters were Ken "Iron Curtain" Osowski '98, Nikki "Tikki Tavi" Reisch '99, Malay "you down by the fire" Patel '00, Randy "Don't I sound like a Porn Star?" Longman '00, Raj"er Clemens" Adlakha '00, and Adam "Wheels" Benforado '01.

The victorious softball team was led by Captain Simon "No. 63" Rodberg '00, with support from those soccer studs and Matt "Uber-frogger" Obernauer '00, Renee "R-Dogg" Wentzel '00, Dave "Id" Caputo '00, and Avery "The General" Patton '00.

Obviously Davenport is brimming over with raw talent. The only thing we lack is participation. So for those of you who don't come out to play (especially with this fine weather), leave D-port because you're worthless! And for all you other Elis (e.g., those damn Sabrugians) who have doubted us in the past, beware, we're making a run for mighty Tyng. Only 540 points to go.
