Silliman

Mother Nature spoke. And the Silliman intramural world listened. Spurred on by great weather, brand-spanking new schedules, and a general agreement not to settle for tenth place, the armchair athletes of Silliman sit in the middle of the spring standings, poised to dust off a few rival colleges in the process.

Monday's games against JE netted our block 21 crucial points. In soccer, tenacious offense from Andrew "Onsides" Chen '99 paid off on a cross to Brett "Talent Man" Libresco '99 for the deciding goal in a 1-0 victory. Also instrumental were Chris "The Full" Mooney '99, Cortney "Because big bro said so" Price '99, Jon "Sweet Bread or" Rye '98, Johnny "Staunch D" Scafidi '01, Jose "Maradona" Mendez '98, Katy "The height kept me in goal" Grubbs '99, Nicole "Ms. Offense" Castonguay '00, Kim "Stonewall" Gahan '01, Sheila "What's a" Wirkus '98, Lydia "This last name could make me a black" Smith '98, Michelle Maiolo '99, and Jeanne "Campos" Cavanaugh '99.

Sillimanders took to the softball diamond in a 7-1 schelacking, led by four innings of stellar pitching from Yvonne "Cone" Cheng '98. Power hitting by Grubbs, Libresco, Matt "McGwire" Sullivan '99, and stellar fielding from Robin "Golden Glove" Carter '99 complemented all-around tight play from ballers Scafidi, Ernest "Mo Vaughn" Morris '00, Ehud "Williams" Waldoks '01, Danny "Drabek" Sims '99, Liza "Newsome" Newfield '99, and fellow Cathy "Southpaw" Suttle.

Can't see that red amphibian in the Armory grass? Maybe you'll notice when it comes from behind, administering canned treatment of the whoop-ass variety.
