Trumbull

In Trumbull, we sure are glad to be out of the winter season. With the beautiful weather, people are coming out to the fields in record numbers. As it is, we finished the winter season with way more points than we finished "the year" last year, and the Trumcrystalball predicts that with the heightened enthusiasm this spring, we will end the season out of the double digits.

Trumbull field hockey players, led by Joanna Pozen '99, carried the game for the Saybrook-Trumbull team last week. With eight players out there from Trumbull alone, I see great things in store for this team. Trumbull sophomores dominated, with Catherine Kidd scoring a goal, assisted by Amy Cerciello.

When we get the people to the soccer field, we will win. This week in fact, we had a miraculous tie, starting with only nine people on the field. Still, even missing most of our players, we had a very respectable game against Berkeley, with a goal by Tod Sacerdoti '99 early in the game.

Our softball team is destined for greatness. In the capable hands of Jennifer Walsh '99, the team beat Morse 22-6 last week. Many team regulars came out and had a couple of runs a piece, including Dan Vu '99, Dan Vining '98, Justin Sommers '99, and Raf Lena '99. Aubrey Dick '01 saved the day by helping a team avoid a forfeit, and then going on to hit 3-for-3 at the plate.
