It's about time
In the driving rain at Harvard Stadium, the Crimson
(1-3) earned their first win of the season by downing Cornell 19-12 on Sat.,
Oct. 10. Due to the bad weather, neither team could mount much of a passing
attack, and both opted instead for the ground game. Harvard, led by tailback
Chris Menick '00, amassed 290 yards rushing, while Cornell picked up 225 yards
on 42 carries. With their second league loss, the Big Red (2-2) saw their title
hopes wash away in the downpour. Harvard, meanwhile, gave its season a lift by
evening its Ivy record at 1-1.
