The frosty bite in the air and the emergence of the ubiquitous Yale sweatshirts remind us all that fall is over and winter is about to open up a nasty can of whoop-ass on us. JE's fall IM season has had its ups and downs, but overall there's been definite improvement. The prospects are good that it will improve even more.

Coming from a 12th-place finish last year, we had a big chip on our shoulders. As predicted, we have devastated all in our path, especially in coed tennis. A 6-1 record belies the talent on our team since our only loss was a freak of nature. When our top players show up, we can't lose. William "Tell me you love it" McGrath '00 and Jessica "no makeup" Berg '00 have led the team with brilliant ground strokes and vicious backhands. Walter Stern '01, Jeremy Royal '00, Tara Cronin '00, and Jennifer Chen '99 have also brought their ass-kicking skills to the court. They are backed by the depth of Eric Ko '00, Barry Zhang '00, Seung Lee '00, Eleanor Ainslie '02, Kerry Fischer '99, and Lydia Pace '01, among many others. This is a promise to the team: if we win it all, there's a big pot at the end of the rainbow and it's full of alcohol.

The table tennis team has made JE proud with a respectable 5-4-1 record. Vivek "ping pong Nazi" Sugavanam '00 and Yvonne "lightning hands" Yang '00 have led the team with great wins. Ya know they is good when they bring their own paddle! Thanks to the many table tennis faithfuls: Carl Bialik '01, Jessica Berg '00, Sindy Chen '00, Greg Goodman '00, Giulia Musolino '00, and Laura Feiveson '02.

Winter is another chance for us to reclaim our rightful place up top with the big boys. So long Pierson, Davenport, and Trumbull--and hello to whining TD.
