Morse

From the basement to the top half in less than a month! That wouldn't have anything to do with coming in second in cross country, five straight wins in table tennis, a winning record in football, tennis again in the playoffs, and men's soccer at the top of the standings, would it? And if those at the top aren't nervous, a belated "Who's Hot" from the Swami should knock some sense into them.

Erasing the memory of last year's cross country forfeits, the Morse men raced to number two in the championship. Peter "Minnesota Flats" Lokken '00 came out of retirement to finish second while our oh-so-beloved captain, Michael "Chuck" Yaeger '99, finished 10th. Strong showings were also put in by Ezra "Edgar Seneca" Rosser '00 and Joel "King of the two-liter Coke bottle" Phillips '99, who rounded out the scorers. Thanks to Shivan Mehta '01, Joey Ax '01, and Louis Aurelio '01 for helping us out in the clutch.

Refusing to be discouraged by a tough 1-4 start, table tennis has rebounded with five straight wins. Though top seniors Denitza Blagev '99 and Melanie Schoenberg '99 will be tough to replace, the team still looks to build off of this late run and make a serious bid at a championship next year.

Though stuck at the bottom three weeks ago, fifth place can definitely be ours. We've shown we can play with the big boys.

(Compiled by the top-finishing last placed runner in the cross country championship.)
