Bigger than Green: Cornell men's soccer
No one expected the nationally-ranked Dartmouth men's soccer squad to
lose another game this season--that is, no one but the Cornell team. On Sat.,
Oct. 24, the Ivy title race had its biggest surprise of the season when the Big
Red defeated No. 16 Dartmouth 2-1 in overtime, moving its Ivy record to 2-2 on
the year. Senior sweeper Sean McKenna, who hadn't attempted a shot all year,
netted the game-winner. McKenna, who earned Ivy League Player of the Week
honors for his performance, beat three Big Green defenders and slipped the ball
through the empty goal for the win.
