Be afraid

Women's Soccer

Harvard's women's soccer team was so eager to avoid a rematch with Yale that it eagerly accepted a bid to the NCAA tournament, leaving Yale and Columbia to represent the Ivy League in the ECAC tournament. Both the Bulldogs and Lions breezed through their first-round matches, setting up an all Ivy final on Sun., Nov. 15, in New York City. The teams were well matched, and after 90 minutes of regulation, 60 minutes of overtime, and eight penalty shots, they remained deadlocked. Finally, captain Annie Kwon, CC '99, scored the go-ahead goal, which was backed up by goalie Sarah Peterson's, PC '02, tournament-clinching save.
