Morse

From last to the top half in less than a month! Complementing the worst start of any college with the best finish, Morse is right back in the hunt for the Tyng Cup, with only a little heartburn for your eternally devoted IM secretaries.

Congratulations to all who came out and helped right our woefully sinking ship. A strong winter should put us in position for the final push to the championship. But enough of this babbling; time for the fall season awards!

The Men of Darkness award goes to our soccer team, which battled its last four soccer games with 5:15 start times. Freezing out in the darkness, thanks to captains Colin "Flash in Ahe" Pan '01 and Jonathan "Terminator" Thessin '00, soccer fought to a strong season finish, outplaying the eventual champions in a a draw against a tough and undefeated Trumbull squad.

The Most Improved Team award goes to our football teams, which have risen to a .500 record after going more than a season without a win. Our freshmen helped spark this rebirth, with awesome contributions from--Yves "I'll spell it for you" Dharamraj, Will "the thrill" Durbin, Cliff "Mailman" Bossard, and Brad "tall, dark, and handsome" Lebow.

Another award, that for the Best Defensive Play, goes to Annis "Firehair" Whitlow '01, who would do anything to defend a pass, including pioneer the now well-known and frequently employed "facial pass defense."

The Best Offensive Play award goes to the tough combination of Ian "El Presidente" MacAllister '00 and Jasper "rice and" Kuria '01, whose great skill befuddled defense after defense on the football pitch.

So put away your cleats and start sharpening your skates, waxing up your bowling ball, blowing up your innertube, and tightening your goggles. Hop on the bus--winter is about to start. Next stop: first place.
