Morse

How do you spell undefeated in the winter season? M-O-R-S-E!!! The season got off to a solid start with a 16-0 win by our defending B-hoops champions. That's 16 Morsels and no D-porters to be found. I guess our reputation precedes us. With only John "Street Fighter" Ryu '00 returning from last year's 11-0 team, look for new recruits James "Gyro Challenge" Lopes '00, Ryan "Wheel" Barrows '01, and Will "The Thrill" Durbin '02 to pick up some of the slack.

If B-hoops wasn't intimidating enough, Peter "Second Team All-Ivy" Sarantos' '00 pre-game dunking spectacular all but finished off our opponents in A-hoops. After a sluggish start, our squad came to life and pulled away for a 31-25 victory. Captains Michael "Flash" Gordon '00, Ryan "Straw" Berry '99, and Dirk "The Turk" Van Den Bos '01 have helped revive last year's team and have them dreaming shirts. Who knows?

Having graduated a number of key hockey players, some questioned whether Morse had what it takes to maintain its dominance on the ice. All questions seem to have been answered with a 5-0 victory over perennial favorite Davenport. Kevin "Francis" Scott '99 was the key to the attack with two goals, and was complemented by goals from Ian "Lame Duck" Macallister '00 and Alex "Brodeur" Kallmann '01. Three assists were tallied by Dan "Stick of Gold" Wilderman '00 and Sandy "the Wall" Christopher '99 was perfect in the net.

We are ready. Morse will not stand for Silly Swamis predicting lower half finishes. Just watch out so you don't get hurt when we pass you on our way to the top.

(Compiled by a Morsel who will outduel Nerwin on the ice and on the lanes.)
