Brown
Howard Stern has nothing on Jerome Saibil '01, the creator of Brown's
version of the sex talk show, "Love-line." Because his bosses at Brown Student
Radio were upset with the show's refusal to "accept a program of urban
contemporary music," they sent Saibil and his sultry guests packing at the
beginning of this year.
Now he's back in full color. Brown Television (BTV) has picked up the show.
Apparently, BTV wants to boost its lagging market share in the porn industry.
As for Saibil, it is rumored that he will use the show's appeal to males under
35 as a springboard to the governorship of Minnesota.
Cornell
What is it that drives so many Cornell students to suicide? Stress? Crappy sex
lives? Or is it the lack of really good beer? Well, now Cornell students have a
reason to stay alive. The Ithaca Beer Company will be celebrating the grand
opening of a new microbrewery this Friday. Company brewer Jeff Convel explained
that Ithaca was an ideal location because it has "really good water." Convel
explained that the company's focus is quality, not quantity. "This is about
enjoying a fine product with your friends and not about consuming a case by
yourself," he said.
Princeton
It looks as though the citizens of Princeton Township will have to leave their
shotguns in the racks on their pickup trucks a little while longer. New Jersey
rejected the town's proposal to cut its abundant deer population by 20 percent
through "systematic execution."
Irate Elmer E. Fudd Professor of Biology James Gould complained that the
state's action is "Walt Disney's fault...we have to stop thinking of all deer
as Bambi and find the most sensible solution." He declined to comment further,
explaining that everyone had to be vawy, vawy quiet because he was hunting
wabbits.
