Air Quakers

Pennsylvania men's basketball

Pennsylvania (1-1, 0-0 Ivy) got more than a little help from Michael Jordan in their upset of sixth-ranked Temple in overtime on Mon., Nov. 23. Star Quaker guard Michael Jordan '99, that is. He scored 22 points and dished out four assists while playing all 45 minutes of the game, earning Ivy League Player of the Week honors. He gave the Quakers their first lead with an overtime three-pointer and then helped put the Owls away with four free throws in the final 34 seconds. The last time Pennsylvania defeated a team ranked as high as Temple was in 1979 when the Quakers beat the third-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels.
