Close, but no cigar
Princeton field hockey
So, what else is new? The Princeton Tigers (7-0) advanced
to the NCAA championships for the third time in a row, and they lost the title
match for the second time in three years. In a rain-soaked contest at Franklin
Field at the University of Pennsylvania, the Tigers defeated second-ranked
Connecticut 4-1 in the NCAA semifinal match on Fri., Nov. 20. Princeton surged
back from a 1-0 defecit in a furious fashion with four unanswered goals to take
the victory. But the Tigers fell to Old Dominion 3-2 in the championship game.
