Home sweet home

Princeton football

With Princeton's Palmer Stadium demolished last year, the Tigers took to the road for a total of 3,200 miles, playing eight road games and two neutral site contests. Now, as the 1998 season approaches, construction is finished in New Jersey. A brand-new arena, Princeton Stadium, awaits the Tigers' first home kickoff on Sat., Sept. 19, against Cornell.

The new stadium will hold only 27,800 fans, a small figure compared with the 45,750 Palmer Stadium held. Nevertheless, the state-of-the-art facility has the Tigers looking up. Despite losing several starters to graduation, Princeton coach Steve Tosche was optimistic about the chances of improving on last year's 6-4 record. "There's an understanding that we want to put a good show on in the new building," Tosche said.
