Davenport

Well, well, well. You thought Davenport would assume its perennial position at the bottom of the IM heap, eh? Not this year, my friends. With the help of a fabulous crop of freshman athletes, Davenport has been a dominant force out on the IM fields.

This year's volleyball team opened up a can of whoop-ass in its first game and never looked back after that. For the first time that anyone can remember, the team made the playoffs. The team's main players include freshmen Rana "In the middle, where she at?" Hogarth, JP "The J is for Jumps" Nogues, Elaine Whitton, Dana Peck, Dan Peterson, as well as James "I.M.D. Man" Bickford '01, Rod "I got more ups with a sprained ankle than you'll ever have" Mobley '99, Adam "K is for Kill" Kosloff '99, Will Durbin '01, Phat "Bad-ass" Quach '01, Alice "Don't mess with me" Kim '01, Catherine "Spicey" Pricey '01, Mike "Z-Man" Zimmer '01, Meghan Elrington '01, and Larra "Is very" Pleasant '00.

The men's soccer team has also annihilated opponents this year. Led by the Freshman Eight, which include "Stonewall" Jackson Loo, Niall "N is for Newfie" McComskey, Adam Mutchler, Jack Kelley, Adam "I'm so bad I don't need to wear shoes" Drenzla, Colin Reingold, and upperclassmen Bart Skarzynski '00, Tim O'Meara '00, Will Durbin '01, and DJ "Bad boy" McCrann '01. "Easy-lay" Malay Patel '00 (phone number: 775-0980) also scored the game-winning goal against Calhoun.

So stop laughing. Davensports are here...and in full force.
