Morse
We Morsels are kind folk. We hold no grudges. We do not
hate our enemies. But when the shirts were unjustly taken from us last winter,
we vowed to come out this season with a vengeance.
Of course, the first order of business had to be the B-hoops title
defense. Coming off a perfect season, the prospects looked bleak as the team
returned only John "Stockton" Ryu '00 from its championship core. But instilled
with new life by captain Ryan "Dunkmaster" Barrows '01, and almost all of last
year's C-hoops team, B-hoops is off to a 5-0 start and looks well on its way to
a repeat title.
Having fallen one game short of the title each of the last two years, ice
hockey also appears to be on the fast track to Tyng glory. Despite graduating
three starters last year, the team has banded together under the leadership of
Alex "Ice Devil" Kallmann '01. Behind the solid play of netminder Sandy "The
Wall" Christopher '99 and freshman phenom Blake "The Snake" Greene '02, Morse
remains undefeated, having already weathered tough games against Davenport and
Silliman.
Though the season has just begun, men's squash is already out hunting for the
shirts that barely eluded them last year. These squash sensations, led by
Michael "Mr." Hoevel '01 and Colin "Flash in the" Pan '01, had barely even
picked up a racket before last season and still managed to come within a game
of the title. Now, as seasoned veterans, there seems to be very little hope for
the rest of Yale as they squash their competition one by one.
Now it is only a matter of time before the mighty Morsels make their way
to the top of the standings.
