Silliman
Don't let our seventh-place ranking fool you; Silliman
intramurals as of late have been more than lucky. They've been damned good. The
days of cellar-dwelling have ended, as Silliman has amassed the second-best
winter record and boasts as many contenders for the Tyng shirts as there are
lifeless fogies on Capitol Hill. These past few weeks, it's been about sheer
numbers. Take water polo, for example. A 15-1 beatdown of JE goes into the
record books as the largest margin of victory in the pool in the past three
years. Kudos to goal scorers Abby "There is no" Pease "only war" '00, Nicole
"Porter never an inner tube" Castonguay '00, Chris "The Black" Crowe '00, Phil
"the net with my wrath" Harris '00, Cortney "Detube the enemy at any" Price
'99, Robert "Vock and" Vollero '99, Ben "So cool, the girls never be" Negin
"me" '00, and "Quicker than" Jesse "James" Olsen '01, as well as standouts
Katie "She had the ball, so I" Pinder '01, "Not your average" Joe Pilch '99,
Dan "I'm open, I" Guss '01, and Tom "Taller than Mount" Whitney '02. And mad
shouts out to the TWENTY-FIVE bowlers representing Silliman last week up in
Woodbridge. Trashing TD by 242 pins and just 30 behind Trumbull were Vollero,
Whitney, Jay "No way the pins stay" Hallen '01, as well as Laura "This stuff's
a" Cinski '99, who ranks third among all women, and Ben "Pretty fly for a"
White "guy," '99 with a 169.3 average, tops in the men's ranks. The Silliman
bowlers are out for blood this year.
This winter, Silliman is the bus driver of IM sports. We're taking all
of you to school. I think that's on a T-shirt somewhere...
(Compiled by an intramural secretary dealing with a new 10s digit in his
age.)
Back to IMs...
