Boo-ya winter sports!

A-Hoops: Damon "If you need a body, just put me in, Merrill" Maryl '00 is leading the way with a team-high 42-points-per-game average. Kudos to our favorite cheesehead! Love to the Bobber Rinsrow '00 as well. Hey Bobby--keep those highly irregular activities to a minimum.

B-Hoops: International Man of Mystery Jae-Wook Choi '01 is really making a name for himself on the courts with his shaggadelic moves. Does he make you randy? Does he?

C-Hoops: Ben Howe, PC '00, and Matt Teicher, SM '00, are really making a comeback for the basketball cause this year. And once again, Chris Gibbons '00 is saving the day with those half-court buzzer shots. Oh wait, he's in London. Never mind.

Squash: How come some people pronounce squash "squarsh?" And can we discuss the racquet fiend that is Stephanie Terezakis '99?

Water polo: Liz "Lizzie the Body Ventura" Oliner '00 and Julia "Richie Rich" Richie '00 are sure to mangle everyone in their path. Big things are coming and will come in the future from Steve Fordan '99.

Women's volleyball: It's all about "Downtown" Ali Brown '99. She really knows how to take it on the nose, if you will.

Men's volleyball: Lou "Froglegs" Fanelli, Jr. '02 is heating things up, if you will, behind the net. Antares Ramos '01 and partners are backing him up with some Latin love and a spike that would turn the head of Barbara from Hartford. We miss ya, Barb!

Women's hoops: With expert coaching from Joe DeFeo '01, these women hoopsters, including Ainna Manapat '00, are going all the way, if you will.

Ice hockey: Elise "Darth Vader/Head of SAC" Couper '00 is one hell of a goalie. And you haven't even seen her brawling yet.

Swimming: Do you know who is so hot? Insoo Suh '99. And you haven't even seen him in his Speedos yet. He has goggles too.

Bowling: This is not a sport for the faint of heart. The balls are heavy, the gloves are tight, and Bud Piper '53 is ready to throw back a brewsky with you. Watch out for Stephanie "Beefcake" Jones '00. Like the Backstreet Boys, she too is back, alright!

And last but not least, one big lionous roar goes out to the crazy ladies of the burgeoning TD IM gymnastics team. These women--under the steadfast leadership of everyone's favorite barette-wearing, blue-eyeshadow-abusing, grammar-confusing Belorussian transfer student, Svetlana Boguinskaia--have put all their heart and soul into every workout and competition. Special props sent out to Dan Davis '99 for his unique floor routine, an artistic and athletic tour de force set to Burt Bacharach's "Love, Sweet Love (What the World Needs Now)." And there wasn't a single dry eye in the house when Dan gave his final salute to the judges.
