Cornell women's basketball

For the second week in a row, Cornell stole the women's basketball Ivy League rookie of the week honors. Breean Walas' outstanding performance in Cornell's narrow losses to both Princeton and Penn last weekend kept the Big Red competitive to the end. Walas recorded a team-high 19 points, as well as five assists and no turnovers versus first-place Princeton. Against third-place Penn, she posted 12 points, seven rebounds, and a huge three-pointer late in the game to spark a comeback that fell just short of victory. This is the second time Walas has snared the rookie of the week award this season.
