Timothy Dwight

So the winter season is just about over...good. We don't like winter--we never have. In Timothy Dwight, we are of the opinion that (with the exception of basketball) athletes show their true merit on the fields. Do we sound bitter? We are. If you thought that our fall season was impressive, just wait. This spring will be like no other. Coed soccer, baseball, field hockey, Ultimate...it may get ugly. But before we move forward, several TDers deserve recognition.

The water polo team--Kevin "Soares" Schelenski '00, Ben "Gossamer swimsuit" Langworthy '00, and Andrew "The Tube-Tipper" Gerber '99 have won seven straight contests by considerable margins. But could they have done it without Merrill "Section IV" Dobson's '00 multi-goal performance on Monday? No way. And props to Mary Pat Mahnensmith '00, Kara "Y" Murphy '99, and Carrie Simons '99.

Squash is also doing very well. Matthew "Brother, can you spare some tape?" Kennedy '01 is undefeated, while Robbie Hsu"bacca" '02, Josh "Heiddiger" Panas '99, Ro "Job" Malik '00 and Joelle "The Hawaiian hero" Laszlo '99 have all stepped up in a big way.

Before we close, respect goes out to the B-hoops heroes. Latrell Sprewell might be out for three to six weeks, but filling in will be Dan "Houston" Sommers '99, Henry "LJ" Fernaine '99, and Brian "Ewing" Angstadt '01. On a side note, Alex "Kukoc" Kirshner '99 did his best to step up, but with inferior NBA inspiration, he fell slightly short. We'll be bringing out Chris Dudley '83 for the final games of the season.

Finally: attention all swimmers! Report to Dan Davis '99 and Merrill Dobson immediately for inspection! All participants must be fitted for proper competitive swimwear.
