Silliman
Another two weeks have passed, and Silliman teams
continue to melt through all winter opposition. With the stretch run of the
season upon us, it's time to take out the last of the trash in the House of
Payne. Our apologies if you haven't been picked up yet. Silliman will continue
its tradition of winter dominance, taking you to the hole, the net, and
wherever else this semester.
A capable and confident men's squash squad, led by Roger Scho"me the
money"feld '99, has proven to have more mettle than its record indicates. Eddie
"Speedy" Gonzalez '99, Tom "The Bomb" Whitney '02, Andrew Kitch"this line
drive"er '01, and Desmond "AC" Delce '02 are just some of this squad's super
squashers.
C-hoops, behind NBA Rookie of the Year candidate Atit "Iverson" Jariwala '02,
started its season with a tight 24-22 win over JE but dropped a tough one to
Stiles. Props to Whitney, Louis "Brood War" Tompros '00, Stevan "Saint"
Nicholas '01, Dave "You can't" Figueroa "me out" '01, Brett "The Threat"
Libresco '99, and Cortney "Cort4Short" Price '99 for keeping it close.
Bowling looks to better the 3-8 and 4-7 marks of the past two years under
Laura "The Horror" Cinski '99, Ben "Again" White '99, "Darin'" Aaron Crowell
'02, and, well, whoever we decide to sub in, dammit. And swimming, under Rishi
"Continuity" Kundi '99 and "The Whole" Nicole Castonguay '00, promises to be
nothing less than an aquatic smackdown.
Last but not least, look out for ice hockey (6-2), men's A-hoops (5-4), and
women's volleyball (6-2), which will continue to go through foes like cab
drivers through red lights. Watch for the slammin' women's hoops team (7-1) to
dismantle you like a terminator on its way to the title. And top-ranked
Silliman men's volleyball (8-1) is the real deal--I'd like my Tyng shirt in
Large, please.

in your face a little if we beat you.)
