Silliman

While the cats are away, the Sillimanders will play--and win. Maybe you've seen our recent scurry up the Tyng ladder to fifth and have just disappeared in fear! Men's and women's volleyball have combined to tally a Yale-best 18-4 mark. Our very best to departing seniors Andrew "El Capitan" Chen, Brian "Citizen" Kang, Brett "No-Fret" Libresco, and "Tiger" Lilly Wang. More shout-outs go to juniors Chris "Kiss This" Lee, Ming "Dynasty" Zhou, and Jessica "No" Lee "way"; sophomores Sam "Bamm-Bamm" Stern, "Roarin'" Loren Wengerd, Shannon "The Point" Baker-Branstetter, Nambi "The hitter, not the" Gardner, Cariann "I think I" Chan, Ana "Absolute" Powell; and frosh Ali "Red, Gold, and" Green, Tom "The Bomb" Whitney, and "Saint" Augustine Kim for strong finishes.

Other Sillisports weren't far behind, either. Senior captains Michelle "Jordan" Maiolo and Robin "Backstreet's Back" Carter engineered a veritable women's hoops renaissance, leading the team to an 8-3 record. Ice hockey, meanwhile, saw seniors Ben "The Great" White and Joe "The Goalie" Pilch (G.A.A.: 1.91!) shape a 3-year-best Sillirecord of 8-2-1.

Bowling's senior sensations White, Laura "Consistency" Cinski, Rob-jam Vollero, and J-luv Milner, along with Aaron "25 mph" Crowell '02, took out Calhoun and shocked Berkeley for fifth place overall (7-4) and the third highest team pinfall. White finished third overall in individual scoring, while Cinski took second among women bowlers. Water polo eked out a winning record (6-5) with a late 3-2 win over Calhoun, as did A-hoops (6-5), and B-hoops finished with a four-game winning streak (5-6). Swimming lit it up for 32 points in the pool--captains Castonguay, Kundi, and company fought their way to 4-1 and a place in the finals.

Next time: highlights of swimming and C-hoops' remarkable runs. Until then, try to catch up. We here in Silliman are worried that we're making this look too easy.

(Compiled by a representative of a college that doesn't need observation or divine proof of Timothy Dwight's inferiority. We kinda knew that all along.)
