Correction

In "Panels discuss flaws of Levin's diversity plan" [YH, p.3, 3/4/99], Rogers Smith was misquoted in the penultimate paragraph. The quote should have read, "The best thing the University could do probably is to make additional slots available to departments lacking in diversity, if they have other plausible claims to resources, but to insist that they document who the minority and women scholars are in each field where a search has taken place and why they were not regarded as appointable." The Herald sincerely regrets the error.
