Morse

When Conan O'Brien came to campus last weekend, I asked him what is good in life. Of course, he replied, "To crush your enemies. To see them driven before you. To hear the lamentations of TD,"--or something like that.

It's time to bring home the hardware. Out of the eight Morse spring teams, four have already qualified for the postseason. Baseball is definitely the most improved team of the spring, going from a losing record last year to 4-1 and a spot in the title game. When asked how he did it, captain Tom "T-Bone" Socci '99 replied, "I guess I'm just that good."

Just as impressive a turnaround came from the Morse golfers this past week, who placed second in our division after finishing dead last in the fall. Congratulations to captain Warner "Tee" Off '02, Kevin Scott '99, Scott Benton '99, and Sara Perkins '01, who placed us into the championship round.

Field hockey and billiards are also fine-tuning their skills for postseason play. With a solid victory over JE, billiards has locked up the first seed and now begins to ready itself for a run at the shirts. Field hockey has also raced out to an undefeated record and looks forward to meeting rival TD-SM in both the regular season and the playoffs.

And who can forget softball? Though the playoffs are not in the cards, we took home our first win in a number of years last week with a decisive 17-8 thrashing of Branford. Our fab frosh and super sophomores have come together as a force to be reckoned with in years to come.

Just as the year must end, so must this article. Apologies to all who were left out. Congrats to Ultimate and Soccer, who will advance to the playoffs with wins next week! What a wild ride. See ya next year--here's hoping next year will be the year.
