WEEKEND EXCURSION

Actors from New Haven and New York theater companies are collaborating with Yale Dramatic Association students to produce the O'Neill at Yale Forum this Sun., Apr. 18, a day-long tribute to playwright Eugene O'Neill. The event was organized by O'Neill at Yale, an association of faculty members and students who plan to produce the dramatist's 49-play canon in chronological order. This weekend's performance will feature staged readings and discussions of three early plays: Servitude, The Sniper, and The Personal Equation.

"This year is the first time three different theatrical groups have come together to work on one of our productions," Deanna McBeath, managing director of O'Neill at Yale, said. "We hope that having New Haven actors work with Dramat students will help to develop a bond between the New Haven and Yale theater communities." McBeath said she is also excited for this year's O'Neill production because it is the first full-day festival ever. In addition, O'Neill's great-granddaughter, Aurelia Thierry, is a cast member.

The Forum will be held upstairs in the Yale Theatre Studies Building at 254 York St. Servitude begins at noon, The Sniper at 4 p.m., and The Personal Equation at 8 p.m. Admission is free. A light meal will accompany each performance.
